Meet Emma

I am not only a busy Obstetrician but privileged to also be a mother of two young boys. I am one of five children myself, and grew up in lots of places including Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast and Nowra to name a few. During my Obstetric training I was fortunate to spend a year in Wollongong with my husband and my one-year-old son. We moved from a unit in Randwick to a small townhouse in Woonona and quickly realized that Wollongong was a great place to be – we loved the laid-back pace, beautiful beaches and feeling of space that comes with embracing the Illawarra lifestyle. We had the idea that this would be a great place to one day raise our family.

We returned to Sydney to complete my training and ultrasound fellowship at The Royal Hospital for Women.  At 36 weeks pregnant with our second son, we bought our first home in Balgownie and with a 2-week-old baby we made the move back to the Illawarra to settle into our new home.

In 2019, the following year, I began work as a Staff Specialist at Wollongong Public Hospital and also established a private practice on Crown Street. It is hard to believe that some of those first-time mums from my early private practice days are now coming back for me to deliver baby number 3 and even 4!

I feel privileged to have a job that is so rewarding, where people trust me to manage what is one of the most important and vulnerable moments of their lives. I try to honour that decision by building genuine relationships with my patients so that they can feel safe and confident throughout their care and birth.

Our family continues to enjoy everything the Illawarra has to offer – wonderful new friends and a supportive community. My life as an Obstetrician is understandably busy- but I still find time to spend time with my husband and boys. We love snowboarding, reading and hanging out with friends we have met along the way.
