Pregnancy Care Tailored to You
Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also bring questions, uncertainty and important decisions.
Whether you're experiencing your first pregnancy or have welcomed children before, you'll receive care that is individualised to your circumstances.
From your first consultation onwards, Emma works closely with you to understand your health, your pregnancy and your preferences for birth. Every appointment is designed to provide the time needed to discuss your concerns, monitor your baby's wellbeing and help you prepare for the months ahead.
“I am passionate about empowering women to have the birth experience they want and invested in providing outstanding continuity of care.”
Your first antenatal appointment
Your first appointment is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin planning your pregnancy care.
During this consultation, Emma will:
Review your medical and pregnancy history
Discuss your pregnancy and any existing health conditions
Complete your antenatal card
Answer any questions you may have
Perform a bedside ultrasound
Explain your pregnancy care plan
Discuss and arrange prenatal screening for chromosomal and genetic conditions - including carrier screening, combined first trimester screening, NIPT and PET screening
Arrange any further investigations required
To help us prepare, you will be contacted before the appointment to provide:
A GP referral
Copies of your antenatal screening blood tests and urine results
Dating scan or early pregnancy ultrasound reports
Your most recent cervical screening results (if available)
Any previous pregnancy or medical records relevant to your care
If you have experienced previous pregnancy complications, miscarriage or fertility treatment, these can also be discussed during your consultation.
Ongoing antenatal visits
Throughout your pregnancy, regular antenatal appointments allow us to monitor both your health and your baby's development.
Appointments are generally scheduled:
Every four weeks until approximately 28 weeks
Every two weeks until approximately 36 weeks
Weekly until your baby is born
At each visit, Emma will assess your pregnancy, check your blood pressure and perform a bedside ultrasound. She will answer questions and ensure you feel informed and reassured as your pregnancy progresses.
If additional monitoring is recommended due to your medical history or pregnancy, your care plan will be tailored to your individual needs. Additional appointments with Emma or her midwife may be requested or required.
